ΠΕΡΙΛΗΨΗ
Οι δερμοειδείς κυστεις αποτελούν μία ομάδα δυσπλαστικών βλαβών, οι οποίες σχηματίζονται από
έγκλειση εξωδερμικών ή αρχέγονων πολυδυνάμων κυπάρων στους εν τω βάθει ιστούς. Το 7% περίπου
των δερμοειδών κύστεων εντοπίζεται στο έδαφος του στόματος. Οι δερμοειδείς κύστεις του εδάφους του
στόματος διακρίνονται σε μέσες και πλάγιες. Οι δερμοειδείς κύστεις του εδάφους του στόματος συνήθως
δεν δημιουργούν προβλήματα εκτός αν επιμολυνθούν ή λάβουν μεγάλες διαστάσεις οπότε μπορεί να
προκαλέσουν αισθητική δυσμορφία, λειτουργικές διαταραχές, λοιμώξεις και σπάνια αποφρακτικά φαινόμενα.
Αναφέρεται μία σπάνια περίπτωση πλαγίας δερμοειδούς κύστης του εδάφους του στόματος, σε ασθενή
άνδρα ηλικίας 18 ετών μεγέθους 6x5x3,5 cm με εντόπιση τόσο στην αριστερή υπογλώσια χώρα όσο και
στην σύστοιχη υπογνάθια. Συζητείται η διάγνωση και η διαφορική διάγνωση καθώς και η χειρουργική
θεραπευτική αντιμετώπιση της βλάβης.
