ΠΕΡΙΛΗΨΗ
Η αιτιοπαθογένεια των μονήρων κύστεων είναι άγνωστη, γεγονός που υποδηλώνεται και από την ποικι-
λία στην ορολογία της. Η θεωρία του τραυματισμού φαίνεται να είναι η επικρατέστερη. Σύμφωνα με αυτήν,
το τραύμα προκαλεί αιμορραγία μέσα στο σπογγώδες οστούν και η επακόλουθη αποτυχία της οργάνωσης
του αιματώματος οδηγεί στο σχηματισμό της ενδοοστικής κοιλότητας. Κλινικά οι περισσότερες μονήρεις
κύστεις είναι ασυμπτωματικες και ανακαλύπτονται τυχαία κατά τη διάρκεια περιοδικού ακτινογραφικού ελέγχου.
Σκοπός της εργασίας είναι η αναφορά στις μονήρεις οστικές κύστεις των γνάθων με βάση τη βιβλιογραφική
ανασκόπηση του θέματος των τελευταίων 30 ετών και την ανακοίνωση τεσσάρων νέων τεκμηριωμένων
περιπτώσεων.
