ΠΕΡΙΛΗΨΗ
Στη χειρουργική του στόματος, εκτός από την ακριβή διάγνωση και την επιτυχημένη εκτέλεση των χειρουργικών
τεχνικών, είναι απαραίτητη και η διασφάλιση της ομαλής πορείας όλων των βιολογικών διεργασιών
που οδηγούν στη φυσιολογική επούλωση των ιστών της περιοχής. Παρ' όλα αυτά, στην κλινική οδοντιατρική
πράξη εμφανίζονται συχνά ανεπιθύμητες καταστάσεις, είτε κατά τη διάρκεια της επέμβασης στον
ασθενή, είτε και μετεγχειρητικά. Μία από τις πιο συχνές όψιμες μετεγχειρητικές επιπλοκές είναι το ξηρό φατνίο
ή ινωδολυτική φατνιΐτιδα, που εκδηλώνεται με χαρακτηριστική κλινική εικόνα. Στην παθολογική αυτή κατάσταση,
ο σχηματιζόμενος μετά την εξαγωγή θρόμβος αποπίπτει, τα τοιχώματα του φατνίου εμφανίζονται γυμνά
από κοκκιώδη ιστό και ακολουθεί νέκρωση του ενδοφάτνιου, με συμπτώματα όπως έντονο πόνο, δυσοσμία
και κακή γεύση του ασθενούς.
Σκοπός της εργασίας αυτής είναι αρχικά η αναφορά στους προδιαθεσικούς παράγοντες εμφάνισης ξηρού
φατνίου, στην κλινική και ιστολογική εικόνα της βλάβης, στην πιο τεκμηριωμένη θεωρία για την εμφάνιση της,
καθώς και στις μέχρι σήμερα προτεινόμενες μεθόδους πρόληψης και θεραπείας της.
Συμπερασματικά, για την αιτιοπαθογένεια της βλάβης αυτής έχουν κατά καιρούς ενοχοποιηθεί διάφοροι
παράγοντες και έχουν διατυπωθεί πολυάριθμες θεωρίες, χωρίς όμως να είναι ιδιαίτερα σαφείς οι λόγοι για
τους οποίους επισυμβαίνει το ξηρό φατνίο. Ωστόσο, έχει σημειωθεί ιδιαίτερη πρόοδος προς την κατεύθυνση
της πρόληψης και της μείωσης της συχνότητας εμφάνισης του.
