ΠΕΡΙΛΗΨΗ: Υποτροπιάζουσα περιφερική παράλυση του προσωπικού νεύρου, υποτροπιάζον οίδη-
μα του προσώπου και πτυχωτή ή οσχεοειδής γλώσσα, αποτελούν μια τριάδα συμπτωμάτων γνωστή
σαν σύνδρομο Melkersson–Rosenthal. Το οίδημα του προσώπου, το πιο χαρακτηριστικό σύμπτω-
μα του συνδρόμου είναι γνωστό σαν κοκκιωματώδης χειλίτιδα ή χειλίτιδα Miescher και από πολλούς
συγγραφείς θεωρείται σαν μια μονοσυμπτωματική μορφή του συνδρόμου.
Στο άρθρο αυτό γίνεται αναφορά σε ασθενή ηλικίας 23 ετών, ο οποίος προσήλθε στην κλινική μας
με οίδημα χειλέων και γεωγραφική γλώσσα. Τέθηκε η διάγνωση της κοκκιωματώδους χειλίτιδας, ενώ
η εφαρμοσθείσα θεραπεία ήταν κυρίως χειρουργική.
Συζητείται η κλινική εικόνα του συνδρόμου, η διαφορική διάγνωση από άλλα σύνδρομα ή νοσήμα-
τα που εκδηλώνονται κυρίως με οίδημα των χειλέων, η ιστολογική εικόνα, η αιτιολογία αλλά και η
συντηρητική καθώς και η χειρουργική θεραπεία.
