Eπίσταξη: Τεχνικές ρινικού πωματισμού

ΠΕΡΙΛΗΨΗ: Η επίσταξη αποτελεί μια από τις πιο συχνές επείγουσες ιατρικές καταστάσεις και προ-
σβάλλει όλες τις ηλικιακές ομάδες, ενώ υπολογίζεται ότι θα συμβεί σε κάποια στιγμή στη ζωή του
60% του γενικού πληθυσμού. Τα αίτια της είναι πολλά και μπορεί να οφείλονται σε τοπικούς και
συστηματικούς παράγοντες, ενώ διάφοροι τραυματισμοί και ιδίως συντριπτικά κατάγματα του μέσου
τριτημορίου του προσώπου συνοδεύονται συχνά από άλλοτε άλλης βαρύτητας ρινορραγία. Όταν η
ρινορραγία είναι έντονη και δεν είναι ορατή και ανιχνεύσιμη η εστία, η επίσχεσή της επιτυγχάνεται
με χημική καυτηρίαση, ηλεκτροκαυτηρίαση, με ενδοσκόπηση, απολίνωση ή εμβολισμό των υπαίτιων
αρτηριών κ.ά., καθώς επίσης και με πρόσθιο ή οπίσθιο ρινικό πωματισμό ή και με συνδυασμό αυτών
με τη χρήση γάζας ή άλλων πιο σύγχρονων υλικών και μεθόδων.
Σκοπός της παρούσας εργασίας είναι η ανασκόπηση της βιβλιογραφίας που αφορά τις συμβατικές
τεχνικές ρινικού πωματισμού, τόσο τις παλαιότερες, όσο και τις νεότερες.
Αποτελέσματα: Κατά τη μελέτη της σχετικής βιβλιογραφίας βρέθηκε ότι ακόμη και σήμερα χρησι-
μοποιούνται με επιτυχία οι παραδοσιακές μέθοδοι ρινικού πωματισμού με χρήση γάζας, ενώ η
χρήση σύγχρονων υλικών οδήγησε στην εφαρμογή νέων τεχνικών.
Συμπεράσματα: Η επίτευξη του ρινικού πωματισμού είναι επιτυχής με τις παλαιότερες μεθόδους, οι
οποίες όμως με τη χρήση σύγχρονων υλικών έχουν απλουστευθεί και έχουν γίνει περισσότερο απο-
τελεσματικές και λιγότερο χρονοβόρες.
