Myoepithelial carcinoma of minor salivary glands. Report of 2 cases

SUMMARY: Malignant myoepitheliomas (MMs) are rare tumours of the salivary glands. They mostly occur in the parotid gland and only few other sites of origin have been described. In this paper we present two rare cases of malignant myoepitheliomas. First patient represents one of the few cases of a MM of the minor salivary glands with infiltration of the mandible. In the second patient, we describe the recurrence of MM of the palate occupating anterior rhinopharynx and the maxilla. Because of the rarity of these lesions, there are no specific indications for their treatment.
