SUMMARY: The inflammatory myofibloblastic tumor is a benign lesion of unknown etiology, which occurs primarily in the first two decades of life. The organ mostly affected is the lung, while involvement of the head and neck is rare, accounting for a 14-18% of the extrapulmonary localization.
Aim of the present paper is the presentation of an unusual case of inflammatory myofibloblastic tumor, which ensued at the maxilla of a 72-year-old patient.
KEY WORDS: inflammatory myofibloblastic tumor, inflammatory pseudotumor, maxillary tumor, excision
